About Harper
Harper and Jagger are extremely sweet and gentle little dogs that are both house trained, follow basic commands and are inseparable so it appears that was the case before they came into the care of PAWS. They have spent significant time with their foster carer's grandchildren and were very playful and friendly but protective of their environment and of their carer. They are definitely not 'yappy' and very obedient and both are highly intelligent. It is absolutely essential that Harper and Jagger be rehomed together, preferably without other dogs or perhaps with an older dog. They are very timid, if not fearful, of their foster carer's dogs, and spend the majority of their time with their carer, having made their way from their bed to hers! They love to snuggle and it took a little while for this delightful duo to gain some confidence but, in that time, both have blossomed and their personalities have become distinct but one commonality is that both are extremely loving. Harper likes to take the lead and makes sure that she sleeps closest to her foster carer, whilst Jagger happily plays 'the underdog' sleeping further away. Another example, is that when they are fed in separate bowls, Jagger waits for Harper to begin eating before he partakes. Initially they were somewhat undernourished so currently enjoy three meals a day however this will be cut back to twice daily feeding as soon as optimum weight is gained. Harper isn't very interested in playing with toys and prefers tummy rubs, petting, and as much attention that she can muster from her carer, however she is definitely not demanding. On the other hand, Jagger loves to play 'fetch' and chew on his toys. Both Harper and Jagger can be energetic but they do prefer to relax and Jagger especially likes to watch TV! Their foster carer believes that these little beauties will make a wonderful addition to their forever home. Harper and Jagger are house dogs with coats that will grow and require regular grooming and clipping.
