Kelly the kelpie (On Trial 31/5/14)

Kelly is a sweet, female Kelpie cross, approximately 7 years old. She is very easy going and quite content to lay in the sun during the day. She's a great age as she is past the adolescent wild stuff but still enjoys a walk and a game of fetch and isn't demanding. She seems happy to be close to you without being ‘in your face’.

Kelly walks well on a lead. She's great in the car, just rests and enjoys the ride and gets in and out of the car with no hassle. \ She is never a bother when we are outside or eating near her.

Kelly gets along with other dogs and also likes human contact with adults and children. \ She only barks when she hears strange noises or when she gets excited to see you or sometimes in anticipation for a game of fetch. She likes to play fetch (with a stick, rather than a ball) and is quite fit and fast for her age.

Kelly came from a country pound as a stray so we can't be sure of her breed mix other than kelpie, but she could be part Labrador or German Shepherd too and looks a bit like a Dingo. She is in very pretty and in very good health.

Kelly seems to appreciate nature and likes to sit under trees gazing up at them during the day and sometimes into the night. Maybe she is looking at the birds. She often wanders around the yard just looking curiously at things. She loves the outdoors and often prefers to stay outside rather than come inside with our other dogs. When she does come in, she is well behaved, quiet and housetrained.

Kelly would suit someone who is moderately active as she likes a walk but is not an over-active kelpie. She would be fine in a home with or without other dogs.
