About little Gemma
Little Gemma is ready for some love! This playful wiry fox terrier x pup came from one of our regional pounds terrified of noises, people, open spaces and, well, basically everything. Now, instead of running to hide in the bushes when we go outside, she runs to us to say hello. She is very active, loves playing with her fur sister and is happy for a quiet cuddle in bed or on the couch. She is fine with cats though she may bark at them if they are inside and she is outside (pure jealousy I think!). She is ok on the lead and great with dogs her own size (big dogs are still a bit scary).
She will need a home with either no kids or older kids (this is more for her level of comfort than any threat to kids - she is very nervous around our 3 year old (he makes a lot of noise) but just stands back and barks at him), she LOVES older couples and bonded much more quickly with my mother and grandmother than with me. It would be preferable for her to be homed in a family with an existing medium/little dog who also likes to play.
She has come leaps and bounds in her confidence but will need basic training (including toilet training). She will pick this up with time and patience though as she is still quite young (approx. 5 months).
Her big brown eyes and mournful little face tell of a sad start to life (we assume she was taken from her mother too young and has not had much handling) but we are now seeing her smile.
Are you able to give little Gemma her happily ever after?
Gemma is in foster care in Doreen.
