About Jack
Jack is beautifully natured Mastiff X who we believe is about 2 years old. Jack was surrendered by his owner to a Northern Victorian pound and boy, was he in a bad way. He was diagnosed with demodex mange (which in non-contagious), a secondary skin infection, a broken tail, underweight and malnourished. On top of his terrible physical state, this boy was also scared and would cower and wet himself at the slightest raised voice or too quick a movement. He had a very strong fear of males, refusing to go near my partner for a good few days.
Over the last three months, we have filled his belly, strengthened his muscles, taught him to sit, drop, stay, come and most importantly, to trust. He has turned into the most gorgeous dog with people consistently commenting on his fantastic nature.
Jack is not high energy, but loves a good play and a walk. He loves having a sniff and is more interested in all the smells than much else on our walks. He ADORES other dogs, and will not be rehomed to a home without a doggy companion. When left home alone without another dog, Jack escapes the yard. He is able to be controlled around cats, but will chase them if given the chance. He loves kids, but forgets how big he is and may knock some little ones over. Jack can be a bit stubborn, typical of the mastiff breed, but only in the way that sometimes he thinks that what he is doing is more important that what you want him to do. He is an easy man to please; give him a bone, a cuddle and loads of love and this man will be forever happy.
Please only apply if you can promise Jack forever. This man has been through hell and back, and deserves the chance at a happy and comfortable life.

Medical notes
Jack is desexed, microchipped and up to date with vaccinations, flea and worm treatments.
Jack came to us with mange, which has been treated and healed. Please note: we are observing Jack over the next few weeks to ensure his condition does not relapse. For this reason, you are welcome to apply and possibly meet Jack, however he will not be able to leave for his new home until the vet has approved this.
He has a broken tail, however, it doesn't bother him at all and the vet has said it is fine to leave. It has healed in a slightly bent position.
