About Rusty (adopted May 2014) ~ puppy
Hi there, I'm Rusty a 6 month old male staffy cross kelpie who is looking for my ideal forever home, any chance you can help me out?
When you first meet me I am a little timid but once I become familiar with you, we will become the best of friends.
Being part staffy means I am people-oriented and will crave companionship from my new family, wherever you are means I will never be far behind. As long as you invest time in socialising me I will be friendly with everyone, yet still be a sensible watch dog.
I am exceptionally good with children of all ages and know I would just love being involved in all he family activities like car rides, walks, frolicking on the beach, and especially cuddling up with you for an evening of TV. You could say I am human with fur.
As I grow I will require rigorous exercise as an outlet for my energy and also to help me maintain my physique and splendid muscle tone.
Kelpie is also a part of my make up, this is one of the smartest breeds in the dog world, which means I will be fairly intelligent, making it easy for you to train me. It also means that I may be independent, and have a passion for keeping busy, so some good quality chew toys, and physical and mental stimulation will keep me entertained.
My ideal yard would be large to allow me to run around, and probably best to have relative high fences to keep me safe and confined to my yard.
Maybe may new family would even let me sleep inside of an evening, but if sleeping outside is required I am sure I would be okay when as long as I have a cosy kennel and nice bedding away from the harsh weather elements.
If you are interested in adopting me, please contact his foster carer Kirra on 0431286529 or email her on kirrawyllie81@hotmail.com. Rusty is in foster care in Waratah (Newcastle NSW 2298)
Rusty's adoption fee is only $450 includes his desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au
Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can tell you all about the pet. They will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire, in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
