On Hold
About Mishka (On hold pending adoption 17/8/14)
Could you have the perfect home for this sweet pocket rocket, Mishka? This affectionate girl is a small but muscular English Staffy, nearly 2 years old . She is a bundle of energy and loves to run and play. She has good manners, apart from jumping up when excited. She will sit when asked and takes food extremely gently from your hand. She does not show any signs of food aggression even with her new foster brother. Mishka is toilet trained, however she may initially need to be directed where is appropriate to go to the toilet outside. She is great walking on the lead and hardly pulls, she also enjoys a drive in the car. She is very settled if allowed to sleep inside with the family at night.
Mishka loves the company of her humans and therefore needs to be with a family who will allow her inside while they are home and who won’t leave her alone all day every day as this will cause her to exhibit signs of separation anxiety. For those unavoidable times when she will be without humans, Mishka would love the company of another dog who can handle a bit of rough play.
Whilst in foster care she has been playing with an 8mth old ridgeback/kelpie male and they are getting along like a house on fire! Due to her exuberance Mishka is not recommended to a family with other types of animals or small children. She needs an owner who will show her love but also give her some training.
If you think you could provide this sweet girl with a loving home that’s suited to her needs please phone foster carer Bec on 0416 095 409. Mishka is in foster care in Cardiff, NSW.
Mishka's $300 adoption fee includes her desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can tell you all about the pet. They will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire, in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
