About Lima (On Trial)
Lima is an adorable little black greyhound girl puppy aged at only 10/11 weeks! She has 5 toes on one paw, as oppose to the usual 4. So her half Filipino foster carer named her Lima, as it means 5 in Filipino!
So far, Lima has demonstrated she is a fast learner and a little quieter than the previous puppies we have had come into our care. This may change as she gets older and more confident but she is currently being trained and encouraged to ‘be calm’ on her bed/mat/crate. She has responded well to positive reinforcement making it easy to train her. She is in foster with another young greyhound and they get on exceptionally well, playing the well known greyhound game ‘bittey face’ and sleeping nose to nose when she is popped into her crate. Lima also co-exists with 2 little dogs who mind their own business and she has done well at leaving them be. She spends a lot of time with 2 young girls and has been wonderful with them so far.
This little delight, like all the puppies, will need to attend a good puppy school – which our behaviourist Bobby will be able to recommend in your area. They will also require consistent basic obedience training at home. Fear not! Lima will come with a puppy manual donated to us by Mali from well established dog training and walking business; See Spot Run.
If you think you are ready for the commitment of a little puppy and hope to stay in touch with us as she grows, We would LOVE to hear from you!
Medical notes
Lima will be required to be desexed at 6 months of age, so it is requested that you are able to travel to one of our recommended vets or pay the surplus in desexing costs at a vet you trust. She will be ‘on trial’ until desexed due to policy that we will not rehome un-desexed dogs. She does not have ear tags so may not officially require the muzzle.
She will be cat friendly.
Adoption details
We will send you an application form to complete and return. Then we will arrange a house check. It is important that the right hound goes to the right home! \ We can arrange for you to meet the dog/s and they can meet your family and/or other pets. Our hounds go “on trial” with your family for a minimum of 2 weeks. We have dogs that are small dog and cat friendly.
We expect greyhounds to be 'indoor dogs' and not left alone for long periods of time. Ideally they would have a doggy or human friend for company most of the time.
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
