About Honey Bear
This super sweet and gentle little girl is the perfect example of why PET SHOPS SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO SELL ANIMALS. Honey Bear was adopted recently from a pet shop by a woman in her eighties because she was lonely! Her health meant she could not walk the dog or take it to park and other places where Honey Bear could get to know and play with other dogs. Needless to say, the pup was not the quiet, sedate little mouse she was looking for to keep her company and so she has, like so many other poor animals, ended up being surrendered. Her previous owner is a lovely woman but she should never have been able to adopt a puppy. The pet shop sold Honey Bear for $1700 and THIS DID NOT INCLUDE ANY VET WORK !! The pet shop industry is driven solely and completely by profits and no regard is given to these poor animals that are just considered 'stock'. The likelihood is that this sweet girl who ended up in a pet shop window came initially from either a backyard breeder or puppy farm then was sold at two months of age into a completely unsuitable home and ended up needing rescue just three months later as the owner 'couldn't cope' with a puppy! The owner or employee of the pet shop did not ask a single question of this lady, nor did they give any consideration to the fact that Honey Bear would most likely outlive her owner. They didn't ask what would happen to her then as all they cared about was taking the $1700 and handing her a dog. So please understand that when you enquire about a rescue dog with a reputable rescue group that we will ask you many questions about your home and lifestyle and may even ask to visit you in your home. We may still have to say NO to you but it's not because we want to play God, it's just so sweethearts like Honey Bear never again end up in an inappropriate home. When you decide to add a pet to your family, please don't just think about what YOU are looking for but what YOU CAN OFFER THEM! Honey Bear is the most adorable, cute girl you could ever hope to meet and of course she loves playing with her toys and getting treats. She has a beautiful low shedding, easy care coat, lots of puppy energy and loves lots of cuddles and kisses. Honey Bear will not be rehomed as an 'only dog' and will need a family willing to give her lots of time and love.
