About Nala
Hi there, my name is Nala and I am a beautiful friendly girl of 7 years who has a cheeky underbite that is extremely cute. I am very much loved by my family, however they have been agonising over me and my other Stafford friend for nearly two years since they brought two children into the world.
Before then we were their spoilt fur babies that they did everything for and took us everywhere with them, but now they just don't have the time for us anymore and we are left alone all day in the backyard.
They absolutely adore us and are filled with guilt. It is with great reluctance they have decided to give me up as our mum cannot walk two dogs and push a pram. They also have their own business which keeps dad very busy. My friend Connor is 12 years of age and very arthritic so they say it would be too unfair to send him away and decided that as I have years of love left they have contacted Stafford Rescue in the hope that I will find a new family who will have the time to shower me with the attention that I deserve and that they cannot give me anymore. Please be understanding about my family as they have had many sleepless nights over this but think its selfish to keep me any longer in a backyard just because they will miss me.
I am very good with children but would be better with older ones as sometimes I knock the little ones over by accident. I am calm and quiet in the car and love belly rubs. I am very loyal and think there is nothing better than to be as close as possible by your side. I will sit, stay and won't eat until you tell me I can.
I have had a history since a pup of getting ear infections then refusing to allow anyone to treat them with ear drops by wriggling around so much it makes it impossible, so in the past I eventually had to be sedated and treated with oral antibiotics. The source was found to be swimming which I love, so unfortunately I am not allowed to do this anymore. The upside is that no-one wants to peer down my ear canals anymore so yay to that!
Ideally I would like to go to a home with a gentle friendly male stafford who would help me get over the loss of leaving my friend Connor who I am going to miss so much. I would like to be treated as one of the family like I used to be, enjoy cuddles in bed, movies from the couch, be taken on lovely long walks, be protected when I get a little scared of storms and in return I will give you buckets of love.
Adoption details
If you think you can offer me a forever home please go to
http://www.staffordrescuevictoria.org.au/index.php/adoption-forms-6
and fill out the Adoption Request Form. You will receive an email acknowledgement within 3 days. If you do not receive any further contact after this please do not be discouraged. It just means that a suitable application was received before yours. We encourage you to contact Jan: jan.hutton@optusnet.com.au every 2-3 weeks to show you are still interested in adopting. As we will already have your form on file it will fast track the process when a suitable dog does become available.
Adopt one of our dogs and we are there for you for the rest of the dog's life. If you find you and the dog are not suited it is a condition of sale that the dog comes back to Stafford Rescue.
