About Foxy *On Trial in His New Home*
*FOXY IS CURRENTLY TRIALLING HIS NEW HOME* If you know and love the song "I only want to be with you" by Dusty Springfield then Foxie is the one for you! This gentle soul adores people of all shapes and sizes just wanting to be with you always. His love filled sherry brown eyes look at you with constant trust. His coat is soft and thick to the touch and he loves nothing more than to snuggle next to you and sleep while being petted – he’s the perfect lapdog!
Recently surrendered for rehousing as his owner had too many dogs you can tell Foxy was loved and well looked after in his previous life. He has lovely manners; being fully housetrained is key among them and he also sits nicely when asked. Being older he’s not silly or in your face and doesn’t jump up on you unless you’re sitting down and would like him to hop into your lap for some cuddles! He does get excited when going for a lead so can pull a little at first though soon settles down - he would love long walks and could be taught to walk off lead and come back when called as he certainly knows his name. His foster carer also discovered that Foxy enjoys a game of fetch and will bring the ball back most times!
Sweet Foxy gets on well with his carers own little dogs and is fine with their kitten, but would rather spend time in his foster mums lap rather than chasing the other dogs. As he is a little older he is more balanced which he proved to us recently when he joined in the fun at our Paws Along The Murray event, taking the 300 dogs and over 500 people in his stride. He’s not yappy though will give a warning bark when he feels it’s warranted. He likes sniffing and exploring as his terrier bloodline shows and he doesn't dig or chew.

Foxy really is quite low-maintenance only needing a short walk or a run around the backyard to use up his energy. He’ll require a brush from time to time and a bath as required - he is good in a bath, not loving it, but not trying to escape. Secure fencing, lamb bones to gnaw on and a lap to curl up in will make Foxy very happy indeed!
So what's not to love in this lovely guy? If you want a devoted doggie companion to spend your days with gardening or travelling or just sitting watching TV, then this guy is for you!
As Foxy is housetrained and sleeps inside at night we would like this continued in his forever home with either another friendly dog for company or on his own so long as he’s not left alone for long periods of time ie: in a home where his owner works 5 days a week 8 hours a day.

Adoption details
Please Note: SARG and our animals for adoption are located in Mildura in North-West Victoria.
Our adoption process commences with completing an Application form which you'll find at: www.sarg.net.au
The Application is then reviewed, references checked and a yard check done, then, if there are no issues, a meet and greet is organised. If all goes well the last stage is a 28 day home-trial to make sure that everyone is happy.
If the trial is successful our “stray” is then officially considered adopted and the microchip transferred into the new owners name.
If anything goes wrong SARG will always take back one of our animals :)
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
