About Jose (adopted by carer 3/5/14)
This tiny little man is Jose’. He is a 4 month old, Chihuahua x Mini Foxy and only weighs 1.5 kg. He thinks he is a whole lot bigger and older than he is. He has a huge personality and makes his foster carers laugh constantly! He is going to be like having a puppy forever. Even though he is tiny, Jose loves to play with other dogs. He is living with a Jack Russell at his foster carer’s house and he loves to play and wrestle with her.
Jose loves to eat just about anything, but of course he can’t manage anything too large. He is working hard on his toilet training and is getting better at this all the time, with accidents becoming fewer and fewer. He is living with chickens and cats. Currently the chickens don’t worry him but he likes to bark at the cats, even though they are bigger than him, but he is learning not too.
He is good on the lead and is learning to play fetch but of course has trouble trying to pick up the ball with his tiny little mouth. He has learnt basic commands like sit and stay. We always recommend puppy-training classes to give your new family member the best start in life. All dogs and puppies need plenty of affection, exercise, and training.
Jose loves to follow his family around the house but then equally loves running around the garden with his doggy pals. He has a short, smooth coat and a very cute bob tail.
Whoever, adopts him will need to have a very secure yard because he is so tiny he could get through even the smallest space. He can be an only dog or live with other dogs. He will need to be predominantly be an inside dog and allowed inside, and to sleep inside. Currently he sleeps inside snuggled with his Jack Russell mate.
Jose is a happy, affectionate, and very funny little fellow who will light up your life!

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone (preferred) or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can tell you all about the pet. They will also ask you about what sort of home you are offering in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
