About DeeDee *On Trial in Her New Home*
*DEEDEE IS CURRENTLY TRIALLING HER NEW HOME - NO MORE ENQUIRIES/APPLICATIONS PLEASE* If you like your dogs big and beautiful then you can’t go past stunning DeeDee though she’s not for the feint-hearted and will require an experienced large breed owner who’ll put the time into her to help her truly shine! She’s looking for a home where she can be part of the household goings on; will it be with you?
Adorable DeeDee is a friendly, affectionate girl who likes giving kisses and loves cuddles - If you don't like a little bit of slobber or a bit of hair, then Saints probably aren't for you! Unfortunately a change in her owners’ circumstances means she hasn’t been getting the attention she requires so she can be quite excitable when you first meet her though by being firm and patient she soon settles down. DeeDee is a very tactile dog who loves to touch you or be right beside you either leaning on you or sitting on your foot. If you happen to be sitting down she’ll lie beside you before rolling over for her favourite tummy rub; she just thrives on human companionship and will happily follow you around all day. She is good inside and knows “DeeDee” on your bed” where she will lie and watch you from for hours if she can. When outside she will lie near a door or a window as she doesn’t like to lose sight of her beloved humans for too long.
Weighing a rather large 55kgs (which we’re told is quite small for this “giant” breed!) DeeDee is a strong girl who you can see from the video below loves a game of tug-o-war which she usually wins! As she hasn’t had as much attention over the past 6 months she could do with some brushing up on her manners though she does know sit and responds well to “ah, ah” and “no” when needed. DeeDee enjoys food which helps with her training and is quick to learn if you put the time in. She can be a tad silly when trying to pop her lead on as walks are EXCITING, but once it’s on DeeDee is well-behaved and ready to go. She loves squeaky toys and balls though they need to be made from tough stuff as this girl is strong!

DeeDee is not a “yapper” though will give a warning bark when there’s a reason to making her a good watchdog. Being 2 years old DeeDee’s over the worst of the “digging and chewing”. She absolutely adores water and will happily splash around in a doggie pool (or her water bucket!) or have some fun under the hose on a hot day – she really is a delightful dog! We wouldn’t recommend her to a home with young children as she’d accidentally knock them over in her playful exuberance or just by leaning on them though early high school age children or older who are experienced with large breed dogs would be good.
Visits to the vet are not a problem for DeeDee as she’s usually fine with the other dogs and cats who are there, just wanting to check them out, and she travels well in a car so getting there’s not a problem either. She is good with other dogs usually just wanting to play; if she was to be rehoused with one it would be best if it was a male or a submissive female of a similar size to DeeDee. If she was to be an only child then she would be best suited to an indoor / outdoor lifestyle in a home where her humans are home a lot. Secure fencing and a good sized yard, daily walks, bones to chew on and toys to play with will make DeeDee very happy indeed!

Adoption details
Please Note: SARG and our animals for adoption are located in Mildura in North-West Victoria.
Our adoption process commences with completing an Application form which you'll find at: www.sarg.net.au
The Application is then reviewed, references checked and a yard check done, then, if there are no issues, a meet and greet is organised. If all goes well the last stage is a 28 day home-trial to make sure that everyone is happy.
If the trial is successful our “stray” is then officially considered adopted and the microchip transferred into the new owners name.
If anything goes wrong SARG will always take back one of our animals :)
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
