About Millie on hold pending adoption
Millie is on hold pending adoption.
Millie Moo her new adopted name is a very pretty young and active female German Shepherd looking for a loving home. Millie will thrive when in a home with the company of her human pack and would also benefit from the companionship of a friendly and playful dog (preferably a social and playful male dog of similar size).
Mllie is very very clever and picks up new rules quickly when she is guided gently and not threatened, as she had an unsettled start to life and being a German Shepherd is sensitive and intuitive. Millie is compliant and so willing to please she comes on recall, although we would not recommend her being off leash in her new home until you have voice control over her.
Since taking her into care her confidence building with other dogs and people has improved dramatically.
Her progress with her foster home of three weeks has been nothing short of amazing and she is expected to be able to become a gentle family pet and reliable off leash companion, with time and an experienced, patient and gentle owner she will blossom.
Millie is an active and still very young shepherd experiencing life. Her behaviour in her foster home has been best when she had had two walks a day, one long 5 km walk and then a short outing at night to compliment.
We would not recommend Millie go to a home with children under eight due to her exuberance as she could knock a child over. We have not tested her with cats or pocket pets.
She is currently living with a mature aged kelpie and two shepherds (one male one female) whom she has connected well and is social and mingles freely throughout the day and night.
Millie is not an escape artist as she simply wants to be loved and have the company of her human pack and a friend to enjoy playtime. She is a gentle loving but very active young dog.
Her new owner needs to be aware that she can pull hard on a soft collar and has been managed on a Sporn harness when walked.
Millie will reward a family with her love and affection and loyalty tenfold, but she will need firm boundaries, patience and plenty of exercise.
Medical notes
Millie is a desexed dog, has been C5 vacinated and is mircrochipped, is on heartworm prevention and has been flea treated. We have a full vet history on Millie and she will come with a support network from her carer and training with an accredited trainer.
