About Frankie (female) Lab mix (On Trial 18/5/14)
AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION: Frankie is a 6-8 month old Kelpie, Labrador, Mastiff Cross. Frankie is a gorgeous playful puppy who is very loving and affectionate. She is very friendly and loves to play with kids, adults and other dogs. Frankie is also very happy to play on her own with her toys. Frankie is currently our only dog however she has spent time with different dogs and loves to have play dates with her friends. She would be happy to be an only dog for a family with plenty of time to give her, otherwise she would benefit from a playmate to keep her busy. Frankie has never been around cats, so I can’t comment on how she would be. When Frankie came into care she was with her best friend Leo who is also with Dog Rescue Newcastle. Leo and Frankie are currently living separately to give them the chance to be independent and learn basic obedience. Since being separated Frankie has flourished.
When Frankie came to us she had not had any training. Over the past week she has begun to learn her Frankie and basic commands such as sit and come. She is eager to learn and please which is helping her learn these skills very quickly. Frankie loves to go on walks and is very active. We go on daily walks together and she loves every minute of it. Frankie would suit an active family who has lots of energy and time to spend with her. Frankie is still only a puppy so she gets very excited and may still jump occasionally, but this is only because she has not learnt to sit politely yet.
Frankie spends most of her time outside playing; however she does like to spend time inside when you are home and loves to snuggle up and watch television with the family. Frankie is used to being both inside and outside and is happy to sleep in both places without a problem.
Frankie is a loyal dog who is looking for a forever home with someone who is active and has lots of love to give. Frankie has developed a great bond with our 9 year old sister, she is very gentle with her and loves to follow her everywhere (when a stranger comes to the house she doesn’t leave her side). For this reason I think Frankie would be a great addition to any family.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone (preferred) or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can tell you all about the pet. They will also ask you about what sort of home you are offering in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
