About Cecil
Dear Sir or Madam:
I am applying for the position of Your Loyal and Beloved Pet Cat, as advertised by the cartoon love hearts that appeared in your eyes when you saw my photo just now. As this position is well suited to my skills, interests, education and regality, I would very much appreciate your consideration.
The name Cecil is derived from Caesus, which means ‘dim-sighted’ or ‘blind’. While there is nothing wrong with my eyesight, being almost jet-black with slight shades of silver, I blend incredibly well into the environment, sometimes leaving my foster humans doubting their own eyesight. This colouring coupled with my outstanding athletic ability has earned me the nickname Ninja. I can go into ninja-mode at any moment, darting around the house with astounding speed and agility.
Another of my nicknames is Prince Cecil, owing to my regal and dignified personality. I will happily succumb to pats and cuddles from anyone, with an undiscerning acceptance of all so fitting for any royal leader of integrity.
My current five-year plan involves growing up to become King Cecil, but for this I require a loving forever home.
From my four weeks experience in being a pet kitten, I have gained the following skills and experience:
- Ample experience in receiving pats and cuddles from my humans as they watch television and I sleep
- Proficient skills in the art of purring
- The ability to present myself well – I have a beautiful, delicate face, masculine, athletic physique and a soft, sleek coat – and increasingly good hygiene.
- High-level playing skills, both independent, with other cats and with a variety of humans.
- Non-fussy eating habits – I am happy with both dry and wet foods, though have a penchant for tuna.
- Experience in using a kitty litter.
My salary expectations are modest; in return for my devotion I require only room, board, the odd bit of medical attention and your love.
Please find attached several gorgeous photographs of me that will attest to how majestically good-looking I am. Thank you for your time and I look forward to hearing from you.
Kind regards,
Cecil ‘Prince’/‘Ninja’ Kitten
