About Lexie
Lexie is amazing. He is a lovable and friendly boy, pretty much the perfect dog. Lexie is incredibly happy. His tail is always wagging. He is calm, docile, affectionate and mostly just likes to sleep. By the way, this little fellow snores a bit – so adorable! He thrives with human companionship and will follow you around the house like a shadow.
Lexie is lovable because he quietly sleeps the day away in a corner, yet is very enthusiastic and alert about walks. He is great to take to cafes and for doggy play dates and doesn’t try to escape out the front door when you leave. Lexie stands perfectly still and quiet when bathed and blow dried, and doesn’t even shake on you!
Lexie used to be a resident dog at an Aged Care Facility and has a patient and loving demeanour. Sadly, due to current living conditions (no pets allowed) Lexie’s current owner has reluctantly surrendered him.
This smart dog is house trained. He walks very well on the lead. He walks quickly for a dog his age, without stopping too often to check out the sights and smells. Lexie understands the commands to sit, drop and stay, sometimes he just needs a little convincing.
He gets along well with his doggy playmates, he is friendly towards them, but after a quick greeting he pretty much ignores them. Lexie loves little walks, this cute fellow is known to be a little lazy at times, he treasures his sleep, but if there is food around he turns into a super speedy fur ball.
With cats, depending on the cat’s personality, Lexie is friendly, playful or ignores them.
Lexie needs to go to a loving, patient and affectionate family who are going to give him the best possible life, and be able to give him the love and care he requires in his senior years. If he finds a family with children, they will need to be gentle with this precious boy.
Lexie doesn’t really need another dog around, but if one is available it should probably be of small to medium size, and preferably a senior, maybe even another sleepy Cavvie!
He loves human companionship and is looking for someone who doesn’t work full time so he can receive the love and attention he deserves. Lexie would thrive in a home where he lives inside and has a warm, snug bed, perfect for sweet dreams.
If you would like to meet this special creature please contact us – we look forward to hearing from you.
Lexie is located in Melbourne.
Medical notes
Lexie has a Grade 1 heart murmur & diminishing eye sight (not cataracts)
Arthritis in back legs (due to injury inflicted when a pup).
Lexie has been receiving monthly cartrophen shots for his arthritis.
