About Marvel
Marvel can be summed up by his name, which he lives up to fully. From day one, he has been an incredible dog in any situation he has found himself in and any environment I have put him in.
Having passed a Temperament Assessment before he could legally leave the pound with, and I quote, “flying colours,” Marvel has fit into my own pack like a dream. For a young dog, he is still learning how to interact with other dogs and what is and isn’t acceptable, but with the guidance of my own dogs, he is learning this quickly. When another dog corrects him, he responds very appropriately, and learns from each correction.
A huge goof and not at all aware of his size, Marvel can be a bit clumsy when he’s wiggling all of the place. With a simple “Ah!” though, he quickly sits and awaits your instructions, so if you’re a family with very young kids, you’ll need to be on the ball with this.
Training has been a breeze with Marvel because not only is he food motivated, he is very praise motivated. He loves affection, he loves being told he’s done a “good job,” and he just loves his one-on-one time. He knows sit, drop, stay, and he’s working on shake (and not ‘shake and lick your hand to a slobbery mess’).
Marvel wins hearts wherever he goes and is a true ambassador for dogs. He has such a lovely nature and an eagerness to please (and get cuddles), that people just fall head over heels in love with him. He even showed his calm demeanour during a segment on Studio 10, where he won over the crew.
Having tested him multiple times with cats, and his reaction being different with each cat, we recommend that anyone applying for him that may have cats, ensure that the two can co-exist separate from each other if needed. Marvel will need slow introductions to them and lots of positive meetings before making a clear judgment on whether or not he can live with them.
A very intelligent, obedient, and loyal dog, Marvel will go wherever you want him to go and do whatever you need him to do, but he’s not incredibly high energy. In fact, he’s a bit of a sloth. He’s happy to lay around the house/garden all day or go for a marathon with you – emphasis on the ‘with you.’
Marvel will make someone the most amazing companion and whoever that is will wonder how there was ever a time Marvel wasn’t a part of their life.

Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
