About Roxy (On Trial 17/4/14)
Roxy is a healthy, 18 month old female; Kelpie x. She is a medium size breed, roughly 12kg and 20 inches from collar to start of tail. This gorgeous girl was born into a world with no affection but as you can see she is one very beautiful girl awaiting her new home full of love and play!
FANTASTIC WITH KIDS, has been in care with a 2 year old. Although I believe she would really like a home with another dog for outside play and company. If you do not have another dog her sister Gypsy also available for Adoption. http://www.petrescue.com.au/listings/286052
She has a beautiful short hair coat that is smooth to the touch. She is mostly black down her back and tan underneath and face. She has beautiful brown eyes with a gorgeous black eyeliner look. Roxy is a very loyal dog with a very playful nature but may be a little timid at times. Although since coming here into care she has shown some independence from her sister and trust in other dogs. Roxy is not much of a barking dog, would rather give kisses. She has shown herself to be a very clever girl and has had no toilet accidents inside so safe to say she is toilet trained.
Roxy has really shown to be able to get along with other dogs, although an overly dominant dog would not suit as she will want to play. She can't get enough of cuddles, kisses and affection so someone who has a bit of time would be ideal. We are teaching her sit, stay, come and lay down, and she even stops at the back door now. If you have the time Roxy would love puppy school as she is very bright and learns quickly.
She currently sleeps on her bed outside however occasionally has been allowed to sleep inside. A bit of a yard would really suit as she loves to run and chase flies. When Roxy is bored she does occasionally chew as she is still teething so chew toys and bones are recommended.
Roxy walks quite well on the lead however would benefit more training, she lies down in the car but seems a little nervous so maybe start with short trips. Overall she really is a fantastic family pet!!

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone (preferred) or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can tell you all about the pet. They will also ask you about what sort of home you are offering in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
