About Penny (On Trial 13/4/14)
Meet Miss Moneypenny, affectionately known as Penny. Penny is a 5 month old female cattle dog cross. When fully grown, she will be a medium-sized dog. She enjoys playing with other dogs and gets on well with her carer’s two dogs who are both senior dogs. Penny also gets on well with cats.
True to the cattle dog breed, Penny is very energetic. Her favourite game is tug-o-war with the other dogs. She also has a soft toy dog which is her favourite thing. Next to food, of course. Penny is easy to feed and she will enjoy whatever good quality dog food you choose to feed her. Just keep an eye on your own dinner plate though as Penny would like to share!
Although full of bounce, Penny loves nothing more than to lie or sit next to you with her head on your knee or foot.
Penny knows some basic commands, such as ‘come’ and ‘sit’ but she would benefit from dog training classes. Cattle dogs are generally eager to please their people so she just needs some lessons to show her what is expected of her. Penny’s house training is coming alone well, but as she is still very young, she does have the occasional accident.
As a working dog breed, cattle dogs need exercise, so Penny would enjoy long walks or runs on the beach with you.
Penny sleeps in the laundry with her carer’s two dogs. She has access to go outside during the night through a doggy door.
Cattle dogs are not happy left alone in the yard all day. Penny would therefore suit a home where someone is home some of the day and with a doggie friend for company.
Penny has not been around small children and would need to be watched as she is a boisterous puppy who could accidentally knock little ones over.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone (preferred) or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can tell you all about the pet. They will also ask you about what sort of home you are offering in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
