About Honey
Honey has broken so many peoples hearts, she was found abandoned and picked up by the dog ranger in griffith, she immediately showed trust and affection, the ranger held her for a week but no one claimed her, he did not want to put her down and i was contacted could i foster her, we were wondering if she was pregnant or not as her udders were hanging very low but we could see that she had previously had a litter and had been starved as the puppies were also starved and they dragged on her udders far to long so they were permeantly enlarged and hanging,
when i got her she suddenly gained weight and i had the feeling she was pregnant,
i took her to the vet and my feelings were confirmed she was pregnant again. Possibly over 6 weeks,
After discussing it with the vet we decided to give her hysterectomy before she had the pups, she was already so run down the extra stress of her having a litter of pups then taking them from her as she was in no condition to rear them, i booked her in for a hysterectomy/desexing. This was done wednesday 25th june. Surgery was course more involved then the normal desexing and she was on extra fluids and strict rest. The poor darling when i picked her up she was a living skeleton again and her ribs were showing,
She is so soft in nature she knew we're trying to help her and she gently put her head on your knee, wanting a pat and cuddle, but not at all demanding
It really breaks my heart to know this wonderful natured girl could have been neglected, when all she wants to do is love and she has worked hard for her living. She is definitely a working dog and i have had her on the neighbours sheep, she works quiet and does not force herself on the sheep with lambs, and she came back as soon as i called her. Honey is a very obedient girl loves to be with people and shows lots of affection, she gets on well with all other dogs, does not seem to have a mean bone in her body. Honey would make an excellent companion family dog. She would suit almost any home as she is so quiet and just asks for nothing than a little affection, and a warm dry bed, with food in her belly
Medical notes
Honey is recovering steadily and would love to find her home soon
