About Muppet (On Trial 23/4/14)
Muppet is a 5 year old, male, Maltese x Shih Tzu. He is wonderful with children. He loves to be around you and be involved in what you're doing. Muppet loves, loves, loves to play fetch and enjoys going out for a walk. Once the game of fetch is over he will happily trot off with his toy or come in for some cuddling and a snooze on the couch with you.
Muppet is living with 2 other small dogs at the moment and loves playing with them. However he could be an only dog if he had people around him most of the time. He's not very good with cats. He isn't picky about his food, or anybody else's for that matter! He travels well in the car.
Muppet's ideal home would be either a family with children old enough to play with him, or maybe with a stay at home mum or a retired couple.
As Muppet has a non-shedding coat he will need a brush every few days, \ a bath every 2 to 3 weeks and a trip to the groomers every 6 to 8 weeks to keep his coat in great condition. Muppet is sleeping inside and that will need to continue when he is adopted.
For more information or to meet Muppet please phone foster carer Michelle on 0423 266 911 or email tomchillisparkle5599@gmail.com. Muppet is in foster care in Port Stephens, NSW 2315 (around 30 minutes north of Newcastle).
Muppet's $400 adoption fee includes his desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone (preferred) or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can tell you all about the pet. They will also ask you about what sort of home you are offering in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
