Maverick (On Trial 12/4/14)

Hi I'm Maverick, but you can call me Mav! I am only 9 months old and am a Maltese X Shih Tzu puppy. You won't meet a happier dog than me! I love cuddling my foster mummy and daddy on the lounge and love it when they scratch me behind my fluffy ears.

My foster parents have taught me to sit (using a hand signal and the word) as well as how to wait patiently for my dinner. I respond well to my nickname 'Mav' and come when I am called. I am young and eager to learn and would love for you to teach me lots more things and to go to training classes. I'm new to toilet training, I haven't had an accident inside for quite a few weeks now (touch wood!). I just need to be let outside regularly, and if possible sleep in a crate overnight like I do now.

I love going for walks on the lead but they don't have to be very long walks as I am a low/medium energy dog.

I recently visited the lovely lady at K9 Groomers in Maitland who made me look a million bucks! I have a low shedding coat which needs regular brushing (every few days depending on length), bathing (every few weeks) and clipping (every 4 to 8 weeks) to keep me comfortable and handsome.

I love playing with my foster brothers and sisters, big and small dogs as well as a kitten. I play very gently with the kitten as he likes to play with my fluffy ears and tail! \ I would be suited to a home that has other dogs like me, or a family that has a bit of time to spend with me as I love to be around my family and am eager to please them. I am an inside dog and need to be allowed inside, at least when people are home, and to sleep inside.

As I am quite a small dog, so small children may need to be reminded to be gentle with me. I love spending time with my foster family, but I would love to find my forever home!
