About Dakota (On Trial 16/4/14)
Meet Dakota, a stunning, male, 6 month old, Red American Staffy. He is charming young man looking for a lovely family to join. His ideal home would be one that had time to train and exercise him.
He walks very well on the lead and knows basic obedience. He is a fast learner. Continuing his obedience training is a must for this large dog. We recommend taking him to training classes. He can get very excited and therefore he could knock young children over, so a family with children over 12 years old would be more suitable.
Dakota is very friendly with all people and dogs. Cats don’t even bother him. He could be an only dog or live with other dogs, either way is fine for him. Like all dogs, Dakota needs a daily walk and play time with his people.
Dakota will bond closely with his family and must be allowed to come inside for some of the time you are home. He enjoys lying near you whilst you are watching TV. Of course he is toilet trained. He will not whinge if he is outside and currently sleeps with a mixture of both inside and out so he is used to both.
Dakota just wants a family to give he’s love to and who will love him back.
For more information or to meet Dakota please phone foster carer Mel on 0432-288-773 or email me11ne@hotmail.com. Dakota is in foster care near Cardiff, NSW (Lake Macquarie) and is available for adoption interstate.
Dakota's $450 adoption fee includes his desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone (preferred) or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can tell you all about the pet. They will also ask you about what sort of home you are offering in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
