...................."This well-behaved 11 week-old puppy meanders around, plays with his toys and when he is ready he retires to bed. He has learnt the art of depositing whatever needs to be deposited on his Petloo and is currently doing the same in the garden. He knows his royal name and comes when called (especially if there is a treat!) He sits when asked to do so. \ He adores being cuddled, sitting on your lap to hear looooong stories about everything and anything.
When he looks at you with those sloppy eyes you are hypnotized. He will follow you around and lie down peacefully nearby if you are busy. He is vertically challenged (I’ll tell you why later) so you would have to pick him up onto your lap He takes after his mum, Molly, who was a Rescue Dog. She arrived on Boxing Day and her pups arrived 4 January. \ She was a perfect mum. Her son is as gentle as she is but he has his romping and wild moments (thank goodness cos he sleeps like a log afterwards). He thrives on praise and when you arrive home his welcome is sheer magic.
This fellow has developed from what we thought was a Chihuahua X Dachs into a vertically challenged definitely Dachshund X Chi with big feet. He will be a medium size dog. His multi-coloured coat may possibly be long-haired. His ears are fluffy, floppy and beautifully toned – not even a hairdresser could get those colours right! His picture does not show how loooong he is, just his gorgeous face.
In the days ahead I must find a very special person/family to adopt and to commit to him for many years. His forever home will be on the Central Coast and have a fully fenced area. He will be an inside dog, with the choice of wandering in and out as he pleases. He is learning to use the doggie door. First prize would go to a home that has someone around most of the time and is prepared to take him to puppy school and for walks… There’s lots more, but gut-feeling and his reaction during meet and greet is important.
This little man has a tiny problem – he has not been de-sexed yet because his equipment has not descended. The keyhole surgery that his brother had is preferable. I don’t like the more invasive searching for the hidden gems as it’s not a life and death situation.
