About Dudley
Young Dudley the foxie cross is an absolute character. It's impossible not to warm to him immediately: he has such a lovely nature.
Clever and curious, Dudley is a quick learner and a bit of an adventurer. His interests include investigating interesting noises, meeting new people (and dogs!) and going on car trips to new places. Very excited to be out in the world, he can pull a bit on leash, and although he's improving every day his new owner will need to commit to continue working on this as part of his training. Follow up sessions with a Sydney doggy trainer are offered free of charge to his new owner.
Dudley loves going for walks and enjoys playing with other dogs in dog park. He will need two walks a day as he is young and has plenty of energy. Dudley is fantastic with kids and has such a lovely friendly nature that people always comment on in park.
A handsome boy, Dudley has excellent teeth and a lush, soft coat that doesn’t seem to shed too much.
MY IDEAL HOME:
I need to be an indoor dog and prefer being around people - I would not suit a home where I am alone for long hours every day.
My perfect family would be experienced dog owners who have time to train me to be the best dog I can possibly be. A family with kids would be ace, as would an older couple with grandkids who visit and are able to include me in all their activities. A doggy sibling might also be pretty cool!
MY ENERGY LEVEL:
My energy levels are medium, but due to not having been out much in my previous life I LOVE going out with you to the park, cafe or school drop off. If you are going out, I want to come too, as the whole world is still so exciting for me.
MY SUITABILITY TO CHILDREN:
I am excellent with children – I've enjoyed lots of roughhousing and boisterous play with the three- and five-year-old kids I am currently living with, and they've loved it too. I've even helped the five-year-old get over his fear of the dark by sleeping on his bed. I love playing chase and let kids take my toys with good grace. My foster mum says I am the best dog she has ever had around children, so when her kids go on playdates I always go too!
MY SUITABILITY TO CATS AND DOGS:
I live with another dog who I get on very well with and enjoy learning from. I love meeting other dogs in the park, and although sometimes I get a bit overexcited with them, my foster mum just makes me sit and be calm.
I don't live with a cat, but my foster mum thinks with the right introduction I could happily have a feline friend.
Medical notes
Dudley came to Maggie’s quite badly neglected. He had a flea allergy, atopic dermatitis, a secondary yeast infection on his skin and an ear infection. He was an absolute champion, receiving all his treatments patiently and without fuss, and is now in fantastic condition. His new family will need to keep giving him flea treatments every two weeks (normally every month) and weekly baths with medicated shampoo to keep this in check. His vet adores him and will be happy to liaise with a new owner to answer any questions.
Adoption details
We ask all people looking to adopt to fill an enquiry form.
You can receive this by emailing NSWadoptions@maggiesrescue.org or visiting our webpage www.maggiesrescue.org
We will then organise a time for you to meet with the foster carer and the pet you are interested in adopting.
Maggie's wants this to be a good experience for you, and we will occasionally suggest a different cat or dog as your situation may not meet the needs of the individual pet.
All our pets leave for their new homes on a two week trial. At the end of this period we will transfer the microchip to your details and the adoption is complete.
Your pet is a Maggie's Pet for Life, please consider this before adopting.
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
