About Huey
Huey was surrendered to the Pound by his owners at 8 years of age! They probably had him from a puppy but he no longer fitted into their lives and obviously hadn't for a long time judging by his condition. Huey's coat was matted and he was crawling with fleas so the minute Huey arrived into care he was given a makeover before his little paws could touch the ground. Huey was given a Capstar tablet to kill the live fleas followed by an all wormer, a clip off, a warm bath then a blow dry. He looked and felt like a million dollars in no time at all! Huey went off to the vet and had all of his necessary vet work then he was off to his foster home. Huey thinks his foster home is a bit like a palace ... comfy dog beds and even a couch to jump on if the mood takes him. He gets along with the resident dogs who are all small and look a bit like him but does not get on with cats. Huey eats all of his breakfast and dinner, goes in and out of the doggy door when nature calls and sleeps like a baby at night time. Huey's foster carer said it is her pleasure to have such a good boy to take care of until he goes to his final home. Huey would like to be somebody's baby and doesn't need another dog if there is someone around during the day most times. If he is rehomed to a working family he will need a doggy friend and access to the house so that he can snooze and play in comfort. Huey loves going on walks and socialises very well with every human and dog he meets. Huey has a soft, silky coat that will require regular grooming and he is a house dog.
