About Rubi -Needs a dog companion-
Rubi came to GAR from a Northern Victorian pound.
She was found as a stray with another dog who was heavily pregnant.
Considering she was a stray, she is a placid, loving and sweet girl who is very willing to please.
Rubi is a sweet young girl who absolutely adores humans.
She is responsive and a quick learner, however will still need a bit of training.
She is working on sit and come, and walks well on the lead, but every now and then will surprise us and drop when asked.
Rubi is also learning not to jump up when excited when you get home.
Her biggest quality is how loyal she is.
When been let off leash in an enclosed dog park, she consistently checks back with you and never goes too far from you.
Rubi would do best in a home where she can go out and about with you and be with you a lot of the time.
She loves her foster brother Jack! They play together, eat together, sleep together. There has been no aggression what so ever between them.
Rubi can be a little shy when meeting new dogs, but when introduced correctly, she quickly warms up and starts playing.
She is part Kelpie so is a very active and smart dog. She will need an active lifestyle, mental stimulation and would prefer another dog to burn off some energy with and as to not get lonely. She will need daily walks/runs and a secure yard. When she has not been exercised, she has been found to jump the fence, dig and chew. However, since a more active lifestyle has been implemented, she has shown none of these behaviours.
Rubi is fantastic with children as she is very gentle and she loves other dogs once she has met them but will chase cats as she thinks they are playing with her.
Rubi is stunning puppy who will make a fantastic companion and pet.
