Rory *On Trial in His New Home*

*RORY IS CURRENTLY TRIALLING HIS NEW HOME - NO MORE ENQUIRIES/APPLICATIONS PLEASE* Meet handsome Rory! He’s a delightful, relaxed little fella whose tail goes round and round like a helicopters’ rotor when he’s happy. He’s looking for a loving home with lots of attention to give – will it be with you???

We’re gobsmacked that no one came to collect this adorable little dog when he ended up in our local pound through no fault of his own, so we had to give him a chance. \ Rory is now enjoying the good life in foster care where he’s being spoilt by his foster family and he’s not at all yappy or in your face; he’s a pleasure to have around. Our vets have guessed him as a Long-haired Dachshund cross and at 7.2kgs he reminds us of a mini Cocker Spaniel. This fairly laidback, confident little dog is friendly and affectionate and adores human companionship. \ He gets along well with other dogs in particular his carers’ playful 1 year old Jack Russell cross and they enjoy a good game of rough and tumble.

Clever Rory quickly got the hang of the name we gave him and has mastered “sit” – he’s a bright boy who cottons on quickly and walks extremely well on a lead. He is very food orientated which has helped with his training and although he’s not really into toys he loves his treat ball! He does jump up a bit when he’s excited so we wouldn’t recommend him to a home with toddlers. Rory sleeps inside at night (on his carers bed if he can get away with it!) and is housetrained.

Loveable Rory is happy to be picked up and snuggled or he’ll sit quietly beside you while you watch tv, and he also likes to lie down and watch you while you go about your chores; he just enjoys being a part of the household goings on. He doesn’t appear to lose much hair and will only need the occasional brush, bath and a trim to keep his coat in tip top condition.

Rory would be best suited to an indoor / outdoor lifestyle with either a friendly doggie companion or on his own in a home where his human/s are around a lot as he does get sooky when left alone for long periods of time making us suspect he’s always had company. Secure fencing, daily walks or runs around the backyard and loads of love will make Rory very happy indeed!
