Willow (On Trial 4/4/14)

Introducing Willow, a delightful, tiny 2 year old Maltese x. She loves to play with toys, she will fetch and play tug. She is very playful with other small friendly dogs. She plays chases and tug-of-war and has a great time with them, it's really fun to watch. She doesn't like unfriendly or big, clumsy dogs. She is very affectionate with people and will snuggle into your lap and cuddle you.

Willow hasn't had the greatest start to life but is now learning to enjoy the good life. She was surrendered with her coat severely matted and full of fleas but otherwise healthy. She is rather unsettled by all the changes in her life and is alert to every noise and barks in alarm. This should settle down when she finds a home of her own.

She is afraid of men and boys when they are moving around and will bark at them to try to scare them away. But she is fine when they are sitting quietly and will go up and take treats happily come and sit in their lap. She will need time to get used to the males in your household.

Willow is currently not toilet trained. However we are working on that and I'm sure she will pick it up in no time. If I leave a door open she will often go outside to do her business. When the door isn't open I need to take her out regularly. She is an inside dog. She needs to be inside when people are home and to sleep inside, preferably in bed with a person until she feels more settled and secure.

Willow's coat is non shedding and will require regular brushing, bathing, and a clip every 4-6 weeks to keep her in top condition.

Willow would be best suited to a home where someone is home quite a bit. She is quite timid so would not be suitable for a home with very young children. She needs to have another playful young dog to play with. She will only be rehomed to an environment where she can be an inside dog.
