About Nemo
Nemo loves his human pals and is first in line when pats and tummy rubs are up for grabs! He will follow you everywhere in the hope of getting a little of your attention and is a loyal companion and lap dog. He is primarily an indoor dog but likes to pop outside every now and then, just to feel a part of the action.
As an especially relaxed and easygoing Chihuahua, car rides are one of Nemo's favourite pastimes, and he doesn’t mind being clipped or having his nails trimmed. He can follow basic commands such as ‘sit’, ‘in your bed’ and ‘no’. He is indoor-toilet trained and uses newspaper like the very good boy he is. (If needed, Nemo's new family will be given enough newspaper to last a year!)
This lovely little dog is happy just lounging around watching the world go by, though the occasional short walk is appreciated.
MY IDEAL HOME
My ideal home would be a fabulous family with no small children, a super single person or a cool couple, where there are no other dogs or cats - I may be small, but I'm definitely all the furry fun you need! My diet consists of ‘Senior Eukanuba’ biscuits and table scraps of pasta or meat. I don’t really like raw bones unfortunately, so I visit the local vet occasionally for an oral clean up to keep my smile clean and bright!
MY ENERGY LEVEL
I prefer to be around people who are calm and confident. I do love plenty of pats and cuddles, and occasionally sitting outside in the sun. On lazy afternoons I'm happy to snooze in my bed. I don’t mind the odd game of catch, or a short walk now and then, but I'm always happy to snuggle up on a cosy lap.
MY SUITABILITY TO CHILDREN
I am suited to children over the age of 8 who will pat me gently as I can be quite frightened of small children who tower over me. I prefer quiet households so I can relax.
MY SUITABILITY TO CATS & DOGS
I am well suited to a household with no other pets. I can handle being around small animals such as birds, fish, guinea pigs etc. however another dog is not what I am used to. I have always been the only pet in the household and thrive on the attention that a single pet receives.

Medical notes
My overall health is great. However, I do suffer from the occasional minor seizure. I have had them since I was born so it's a part of my life and doesn't really faze me. :) I have a minor seizure which lasts around 1-3 minutes roughly once or twice a year, usually after I've been taken for a long walk in hot weather or have been put in a very stressful situation. When I have one there is not much you can do for me other than to make sure I am safe in my location, without touching or moving me, or exposing me to loud noise or bright light. Within a couple of minutes I am back to a very tranquil, quiet state, and I like to be left alone for another ten minutes or so. When I feel up to it I will get up myself and walk around like nothing ever happened. I do not experience any pain during my seizures. My owner will be very happy to answer or help with any questions or concerns you may have about my health.
Adoption details
We ask all people looking to adopt to fill an enquiry form.
You can receive this by emailing NSWadoptions@maggiesrescue.org or visiting our webpage www.maggiesrescue.org
We will then organise a time for you to meet with the foster carer and the pet you are interested in adopting.
Maggie's wants this to be a good experience for you, and we will occasionally suggest a different cat or dog as your situation may not meet the needs of the individual pet.
All our pets leave for their new homes on a two week trial. At the end of this period we will transfer the microchip to your details and the adoption is complete.
Your pet is a Maggie's Pet for Life, please consider this before adopting.
