About Alfie
Alfie is a lovely and handsome little guy, who just can’t wait to snuggle up on your knee in his new forever home!
He is a very friendly dog who loves the company of both humans and other dogs. Whilst he loves having friends to play with, he can be a little shy at first if he doesn’t know you, so gentle introductions are best at first. Alfie likes to be friends with everyone and will work really hard to win the affections of other dogs.
Alfie is very clever, and whilst he doesn’t appear to have had any formal training, he is very well-behaved! He walks well on a lead, and knows how to sit (especially if he thinks he is getting food). He will need some basic training to learn his other commands and work on his recall, but he should have no problem picking up these skills quickly.
It isn’t clear if Alfie has had much contact with cats in the past. But he is very gentle with both humans and other dogs – he is really a big softie who just wants to be cuddled! However, he seems to have had limited socialisation in the past because he sometimes gets spooked by new things or if someone sneaks up on him – when this happens he tries to act tough and may even bark, but it’s all just an act! Ongoing socialisation in new situations and with other dogs will help reduce some of his anxiety. In fact, Alfie would love to be homed with another friendly, relaxed dog who he can learn from and play with throughout the day. He certainly wouldn’t like to be left home alone all day if his humans went off to work.
Alfie is in perfect health, but could do with a bit of restraint when it comes to his food, as his belly is looking a little ‘rounded’ these days. He also requires two daily walks to help use up his excess energy (as well as burn those extra calories!)
Alfie is a very friendly lovely boy, who is ready and waiting to make friends with you and your other furry friends in his new forever home.
Alfie is located in Stawell.
