About Gizmo
Gizmo was surrendered into my care almost a year ago with her pure bred Bengal mother and her two crossbreed sisters from a backyard breeder, and was absolutely terrified of humans.
She would cower in the corner of the crate I had her and her 2 sisters in, and literally shake with fear. Her sisters were also afraid of humans, but not nearly as afraid as poor Gizmo.
After a lot of time and patience, Gizmo has blossomed into the most beautiful girl, and I am so proud of how far she has come.
She is still quite shy around strangers, but once she gets to know people, she loves a good smooch, and will roll onto her back for a belly rub.
True to her Bengal roots, Gizmo will become quite offended if you try to pick her up, and will bounce away from you before coming back for more pats.
Gizmo would benefit from a water fountain, because again, true to her Bengal roots, she will splash around in her water bowl before drinking out of it - a water fountain would stop her from feeling the need to do this. She loves a bit of a chat, and has a varied repertoire of meows she will use to have some quite in-depth conversations with you (again, typical of the Bengal!).
In the time I have cared for Gizmo, as you can imagine, I have become very attached to her, and will be very choosy about her new home.
She will need time and patience to settle in, because I feel that 'moving house' again will set her back a little bit in her confidence (please remember, it took me 4 MONTHS to gain her confidence, but I feel not ONE second of the time I spent persevering with her was wasted - she is worth every second!). \ Some visits to get to know Gizzie before adoption are more than welcome if they can be arranged, and if things don't work out, Gizzie will need to come back to me, not passed on to anyone else - so if you don't want to have to exercise patience and understanding for Gizzie, please do not apply.
Adoption details
After seeing an animal you are interested in we ask you to fill out an adoption expression of interest form which tells us a bit about you, your lifestyle and any previous pets. A meet and greet is then organised for you to meet your prospective new furry friend and if all goes ok, you are then able to adopt your new furry housemate.
