About Biddy (On Trial 16/3/14)
Take a look at Biddy, a delightful small mixed breed girl aged around 18 months old. She is full of love and life, and pretty as a picture! It’s a little hard to be sure of her breeding - perhaps there’s some terrier in there, maybe some dachshund, or miniature pinscher, and with those beautiful big dark eyes I suspect there might even be a bit of Bambi!
Biddy has a lovely sleek black coat that is always shiny and soft to touch, and very easy-care. She’s very energetic – loves to play and wrestle with other dogs. Sometimes she teases them to entice them to chase her, then runs and runs, skips and sidesteps, suddenly changes direction, all while her hard working pursuer doesn’t even come close!
While she’s certainly a little dynamo, Biddy also appreciates the quiet times. She loves to snuggle on your knee, and will rest her little head on your chest, and drift off to sleep there. In fact, Biddy would love her new owner to be someone who allows her to sleep on their bed, so more snuggling can occur.
There are no children at Biddy’s current foster-carer’s house, but she has always been happy to meet visiting children, and has never shown any anxiety or aggression. Children love her. She also has not had any exposure to cats so, if you have a cat, we can’t be sure if she’d be a fan or foe. In general, though, there has been no sign of anything but sweetness in her nature.
Biddy thinks a trip in the car is wonderful, and she travels well. She loves to go for a walk on the lead, and has learnt to sit when asked.
Her ideal home would be one where she has company for most of the time – perhaps with a retired couple or person, or in a home with another dog. She is used to being inside with her family, but is happy to spend part of her day outside in the sun. She would be best suited to a home where she is a member of the family, and the lucky family who adopts her will see their reward in the love she has to offer and the joy she will bring.
For more information or to meet Biddy please phone foster carer Lynda after 7pm on Mon, Tues, or Wed, or any time the rest of week: 02 4987 1213 or 0401 264 514 or email dogshouse@tpg.com.au. Biddy is in foster care in near Raymond Terrace, NSW (north of Newcastle) and is available for adoption interstate.
Biddy's $400 adoption fee includes her desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone (preferred) or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can tell you all about the pet. They will also ask you about what sort of home you are offering in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
