About Winston (On trial 6/7/24)
Winston is a friendly 3 year old Jack Russell x Fox Terrier. He hasn't learnt how to open doors or pay for dinner yet but other than that he is a little gentleman. Winston maintains a number of hobbies and is very well read. His hobbies include: waiting patiently for his meals and treats, sitting very still even when his tag is wagging, bringing back things you have thrown away or fetching, going for walks and stealing his foster mum's pillow as he knows it is the very best place to sleep.

Winston isn't bothered by things that worry common dogs. If they run off to bark at a person walking past, or to chase a bird in the yard, he just lifts his head from his throne, grunts and rests back down.
Winston sleeps through the night and is very quiet and calm, he likes to complain by making little grunting noises if you try and get him out of bed in the morning - much like a lot of us.
Winston is house trained and knows the commands go to bed, sit and wait. He is normally very quiet and only barks when there is someone new around so that you can share in his excitement as well. He is a very loyal dog and is just happy to please so learning new things comes easily.
Winston loves playing with little dogs and gets on very well with his four small foster brothers and sisters. However he isn't too impressed by dogs that are bigger than him. He is not suitable in a home with pocket pets or cats as he is too interested in them.
Winston's perfect home would have someone who is home most of the time or another dog mate his size to keep him company during the day. He would need to be inside to sleep but is happy to be outside during the day as he loves exploring the yard and laying in the sunshine.
For more information or to meet Winston please phone foster carer Kirrily on 0401-826-295 or email c3090638@uon.edu.au. Winston is in foster care in Port Macquarie, NSW (2.5 hours north of Newcastle) and is available for adoption interstate.
Winston's $400 adoption fee includes his desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone (preferred) or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can tell you all about the pet. They will also ask you about what sort of home you are offering in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
