Juno is on Hold

Juno, our rescue dog, arrived 26 December 2013. We were thrilled to find she is fully house-trained and happily uses the doggy door. She is an inside dog, but loves some quiet time in the garden in a shady nook when she chooses. Juno sleeps next to my bed. If she could get onto the bed she would, but she is vertically challenged!

Juno is a timid girl. The sight of a broom or any sudden noise frightens her. We are convinced that she had a very tough life before she came to us. We have a lot of physical contact and gentle handling and loving to try and ease her fears. She seems to calm down when I say “Its okay” and “good girl” and if she needs it I say shhhh, gently gesturing with my hand so she relaxes. Juno has found her bark, and comes to me when I call her. She learns fast. In fact, without using a word I can simply point at her and drop my arm and she will come and sit at my feet. Once she knows the area where she lives, she loves a brisk walk. I keep her on a lead at all times. Juno travels well - is quiet and peaceful in the car. If you go out she will welcome you by spinning in circles, smiling, loads of kisses and rolling over for a tummy rub - the latter being an addiction!

A week or so after her arrival Juno delivered her beautiful puppies and has been a perfect mum. Her gentle nature, sweet loyalty and constant presence will melt her new owner’s heart. Once her puppies are homed she will be out and about and we will meet other dogs to see how she copes. I suspect she is still a puppy at heart because she attempts to play with her pups and their toys, but they only have one thing on their minds when they see her: "milk bar"

Juno is looking for a home with a securely-fenced yard, a patient mature mum or couple, who will be at home most of the time and who will be prepared to give her the tons of attention she deserves. I am looking for all of the above plus the requirement that she finds a home on the Central Coast.
