About Chi Chi (On Trial 23/3/14)
Chi Chi as her name suggests is a Chihuahua. She is a delightful, mature lady. We are not sure of her exact age but estimate she is between the ages of 9-12.
Chi Chi is very friendly with other dogs and children and would make a great pet for a family or older couple who spend a lot of time at home. She is easy to look after and just loves a cuddle and a scratch. She will even do little spins in excitement to see you.
At the moment Chi Chi does fret if left alone outside and can very cleverly dig under fences to try to find you; so your yard would need to be very secure. She would need to be inside when you go out. This will settle down as she becomes secure and confident in her new home.
Before coming into foster care Chi Chi lived outside with no toilet training but is now settled inside with her foster sibling and is quickly picking up on toilet training. Her new home will need to continue with this training and ideally a doggy door would be helpful. She loves a little walk and will devour a bone or play with her favourite squeaky toy.
For more information or to meet Chi Chi please phone foster carer Jo on 0414889002. Chi Chi is in foster care in Aberglasslyn, NSW (45 mins from Newcastle) and is available for adoption interstate.
Chi Chi's $200 adoption fee includes her desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au
Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone (preferred) or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can tell you all about the pet. They will also ask you about what sort of home you are offering in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
