About Zac ~ 10yo male Silky Terrier (on trial 20/05/17)
Hello! My name is Zac and I’m a very handsome and lovable mature 10 year old Australian Silky Terrier boy. I am also extremely loyal to those I live with and love to follow you round and be in your company.
I would be the best possible friend and companion for a mature couple who don’t have another dog.
I also pride myself on being a good guard dog and I only bark when someone comes to the front door. I can sometimes be a little nervous around people I don’t know.
I love to go for walks. I know some commands like sit and lay down but you might have to tell me a couple of times. I very much like to be talked to and will sit there and listen to you if you want to teach me more.
I enjoy snuggling on the sofa with my owner while she watches TV or sitting on the back of her chair where I feel like the king of the castle. At night time I am happy to sleep in my little bed in the laundry or if you want in your bedroom if I am allowed.
I prefer to eat little meals twice a day and absolutely love "My Dog" brand dinners. I also love having my hair brushed, especially my belly. I am happy to go in the car and don’t suffer from travel sickness.
I will tolerate other dogs but they sometimes don’t seem to understand my need to be left alone. I will snap at them if they start to annoy me but I don’t hurt them. I think I will be OK with cats.
The vet says I am in very good health with excellent teeth but she did mention a heart murmur which apparently is not uncommon and will not necessarily be a problem.
For more information or to meet Zac please contact Cathy on 0412 244 779. Zac is in foster care in the Newcastle area, NSW and is available for adoption interstate.
Zac's $100 adoption fee includes his desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone (preferred) or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can tell you all about the pet. They will also ask you about what sort of home you are offering in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
