About Raffles
Raffles really did draw the winning ticket when she landed on the front lawn of a lovely local resident. This person knew what to do, advertise on all media everyday for a week, also having her checked by rangers to see if she had a microchip which she hadn't so no known owner was to be contacted and she had no known home to go to. This lovely person then offerred to hold her for her week's detention at her place and raffles thought she had won the lottery. Raffles in return gave her a wonderful insight into being a foster carer even for a short time. This allowed rescue to prepare for her and find a place. Raffles turned up extremely happy relaxed in glowing health from a week of good food and care. Raffles is very social and respectful of manners. She doesn't jump up on you and she recall's really well. She sits for attentian as well which is really nice to see in a teenage puppy. Raffles just loves people and children, she likes to be with you and will walk off lead even at this early stage. She will make a lovely family dog with children to love as she loves to join in with you. She would like a yard that has a bit of room as she likes to stretch her legs as well. Raffles met the foster cats for the first time today. She was enthralled with them and they knew it as they had her attention and she didn't know if it was a game or a trap but it was lovely to watch. When she got a bone the tables were turned and not snapping she just kept circling away as if to say "this is my bone". Raffles loves other dogs too. She shows submission and at first showed fear with a large dog here until she worked out all was good. Rafflea will play and rumble but is not dominant at all. She is submissive enough to be pleasant but is also confident enough to enjoy life and what it presents to her. I feel that obedience and most probably any dogs sports would be the right career for raffles and a home that offers this will get preference. Raffles doesn't bark and as yet has not been seen digging but being a puppy mischeif is expected. Raffles has trpical puppy needs of fresh food and water, shelter and secure fencing. She needs to be an integral part of her family's life and some indoor access would be preferred. It is a must that she be allowed to go to basic obedience and you never know the talent you will unleash in her
