About Ophelia, Pearl
This adoption is for Ophelia and Pearl (Male) together. They are very good friends and can't be separated.
Ophelia is a young white dove who was bred for ceremonial release at events like weddings. At her first event she was released with all the others but didn't know what to do. Perhaps because she was too young, she simply sat there. Patrons tried throwing her in the air but she landed right back down again until someone stepped in and rescued her. She can fly but is not strong, and would never have survived out in the world, let alone made it home. Attempts to find the company that released her have failed (not that we'd be likely to give her back just to let them have another go at injuring her) so now she is looking for a loving family to adopt her with a large secure aviary.
Ophelia grows to like people but after this start she is naturally wary of them to begin with. On the bright side, she is not overly stressed by contact or handling, I've always thought her expression was more puzzled by the behaviour of strange humans.
Pearl was a tagged dove found lost and starving and the metal ring was cutting in to his leg though it provided no way of returning him home. He can be a bit loud when he gets in the mood but is the most relaxed of the three.
These two deserve an aviary together that is spacious and safe. Not an indoor cage of tiny dimensions - we won't even consider it.
Medical notes
Both in perfect health. Can't be precisely sure on any of their ages.
Adoption details
We have an application form that requires a photo of the proposed housing. \ We generally deliver the animal(s) to you and reserve the right the inspect the housing and garden at this time.
An adoption contract must be signed and the first thirty days of adoption is considered a trial basis and may be ended by either party.
She will not be adopted to anyone who wishes her to breed or be used in any way as a product to make money. She must be cared for as a friend. She is quite happy with her carer and will stay there for her entire life if the perfect home cannot be found her - no compromises will be made on that standard.
