Halo (On Trial 7/3/14)

Introducing Halo, also known a Little Miss Lapdog. Halo is a 6 month young Staffy cross snuggle bug who wants to be everyone's friend. She's well socialised with children from 2 years to 9 years and she adores them. She plays gently with children and will happily participate in any game they want to play - she's not jumpy or mouthy with the kids and likes to share toys.

Halo loves other dogs - she's in foster care with 5 dogs of various sizes and ages and she gets on well with all of them. She particularly loves to play chasings, tag and tug-of-war games and will happily share toys with them. She happily meets other dogs, though she can be a little frightened of big dogs which can be normal for puppies. Continued introductions with friendly big dogs is a great idea. Halo gets on well with our cats, she will cover them with licks, and walks away if they decide play time is over and swat her.

Halo is in her element at night when it's snuggle time - she's an absolute smoocher and loves laying on you for cuddles. Halo is used to being inside and sleeping inside will only be allowed to go to a furever home where she can be with her family when they are home and during the night.

She loves to follow you around the house watching you do chores and is happiest to be near you when you're at home. She is also happy to play outside with her toys during the day. However like most puppies her age, she would not suit being left on her own all day as she is too social and loves companionship. She would still suit a working family, but she would need a doggy companion to play with so she's not alone. She'll then greet you ecstatically when you get home from work. Halo has not shown interest in jumping fences, and is not a barker.

Halo loves walks , enjoying all the fun smells in the big wide world and saying hello to other people and dogs along the way. She's fantastic in a crowd and just wants to introduce herself to everyone and woo them with her puppy charm. She has good doggy manners and responds well to training as she's very treat focused.

Halo is well suited to most family environments - a single or couple of any age with an existing dog, or a family with children of any age.

Medical Notes:

Halo came into care with demodectic mange which is a curable, non-contagious, skin condition, which can happen when a baby puppy doesn't receive adequate nutrition. Halo has responded well to treatment and her hair has mostly grown back. Her skin is still more sensitive than normal and can get itchy but this will reduce over time as her hair continues to grow in. She will need to eat good and nutritious foods to ensure her immune system stays healthy.
