About Max and Champagne (on trial 4/7/15)
Hey there! We are Max (age 7) and Champagne (age 8), gorgeous gentlemen ready to show you love and affection. Our human mother has passed away and we have found ourselves looking for a new family to love. Max is a cocker spaniel x poodle and Champagne is a shih tzu x poodle and we are inseparable. We are both great with other dogs but may suit a family without others so that we can get the attention we deserve. We are very friendly around new people and want to be around the action in the home; however we are happy to chill out in the backyard if we need to. We sleep in a room together and once we found our bed, we have been delighted to send ourselves to bed when we are sleepy at night.
A little about Max: I love playing ball and it will become a bit of an obsession after a while so my foster family has been taking it away so that I can relax. When I go walking I like to be in the lead and if you jog with me for a little while to get my energy out, I can walk much easier. Sometimes when my foster brother and I want the same thing (ball, food, going through a doorway first) we have a bit of a squabble but my foster family thinks this has more to do with anxiety than anything else. I love a tummy rub and will just stare at you until you’ll come over to me.
A little about Champagne: People call me Champy or Champs and my favourite thing is cuddles. I must be right next to you or on top of you if you’ll let me. I love people and any kind of attention is just great. I love going for a walk and am happy to just walk right next to you, I can see that Max needs to be in the lead anyway. I don’t know what to do with myself without Max and when we have gone on separate walks I look for him all the time. At times I like to hear my voice and most of the time it’s just for fun. I do stop quickly though once I get my point across.
A note from the carer: These dogs are just beautiful, loved and loving dogs. They must be adopted together because they have been together for so long. They are relatively quiet and relaxed dogs that are used to being indoors when people are around. Please call Jackie on 0407 807 733 or email jackie-keane@bigpond.com to arrange to meet this pair. They are in Nelson Bay, NSW (Port Stephens, north of Newcastle).
Max and Champagne’s $500 adoption fee for the pair includes their desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au
Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone (preferred) or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can tell you all about the pet. They will also ask you about what sort of home you are offering in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
