About Tessie *On Trial in Her New Home*
*TESSIE IS CURRENTLY TRIALLING HER NEW HOME - NO MORE ENQUIRIES / APPLICATIONS PLEASE* Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we could find sweet Tessie the perfect forever home in time for her 6th birthday on the 23rd of March?? But to do this we’ll need your help and it must be a home with another friendly dog as Tessie thrives on canine company!
Loveable Tessie came from a breeder roughly 3 years ago in shocking condition and totally terrified of the world, it was assumed she’d had quite a few litters of puppies in her own short life so what a relief it was for her to be adopted into a loving a home! Life there was grand, she even had a male Cocker who was her best buddy and he helped build her confidence which saw her slowly come out of her shell. It didn’t even bother her too much when her humans had a baby about 14 months ago, but when the toddler started walking that’s when things changed for Tessie – she became quite protective of her food around the child especially when it came to her favourites which are bones, so rather than risking a serious altercation her owner would prefer to see Tessie happy in a home without toddlers or small children where she can relax and enjoy her food.
When you first meet Tessie she can appear a little nervous and timid though she soon warms up and enjoys pats and cuddles. \ She’s one of those wiggly-waggly friendly dogs who frequently roll over for a submissive belly rub. She’s also a busy little lady who has lots of energy and gets very excited about going for a walk, so is walked using a Gentle Leader as she can be quite the puller. Adorable Tessie rarely jumps up on you and knows “sit”, and she used to know “drop” so we’re sure that with a bit of practice she’d pick that one up again.
Enjoy a quick video of Tessie: http://youtu.be/uBiv5hf8z_U
Tessie enjoys a diet of Advance dry food, marrow bones and table scraps and even though she tends to scoff down her food she takes treats very gently. She absolutely loves water and enjoyed a swim in her owners pool though a kiddie shell pool will suffice on hot days. She can be a bit nervous when meeting other dogs though has never shown any aggression towards them and once she knows they’re fine she enjoys a play. To keep Tessie’s coat in tip-top condition she’ll require regular brushing plus a clip when needed; and as she doesn’t shed much hair we’d like to see her in an indoor / outdoor lifestyle where she can be a part of the household goings on.
If you already have a friendly dog needing company and think you can make Tessie’s birthday wish come true, then please download and complete a SARG Dog Application form by following this link: http://www.sarg.net.au/adoptapet.html

Adoption details
Please Note: SARG and our animals for adoption are located in Mildura in North-West Victoria.
Our adoption process commences with completing an Application form which you'll find at: www.sarg.net.au
The Application is then reviewed, references checked and a yard check done, then, if there are no issues, a meet and greet is organised. If all goes well the last stage is a 28 day home-trial to make sure that everyone is happy.
If the trial is successful our “stray” is then officially considered adopted and the microchip transferred into the new owners name.
If anything goes wrong SARG will always take back one of our animals :)
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
