About Fudge (On Trial 23/3/14)
G'day, I'm Fudge! Just because I am a small Jack Russell X don't be mistaken, I have a HUGE personality! I am 13 months old, young enough to play but old enough not to chew everything in sight. I love to play fetch, that is if you feel like it, but if you prefer, I will curl up on the lounge and watch some TV with you.
Being that I am a little dog I prefer to be inside most of the time but I will take myself outside to go to the toilet and go have a play. I also love to go out for walks on my lead.
I can answer the age old question "who's a good boy" I am!!! I don't run off when you open the door, and if by chance I slip my collar I will come straight back when you call me (but it's best to walk me on a harness). If someone knocks on the front door, I will let you know but I won't continue barking, I will sit by your side while you talk to whoever is at the door.
A bit about my history, when my human passed away I was sent to live with their next of kin. Unfortunately for me they already had 2 big old cats who didn't really like me too much and I was always outside. So the family decided I would go to DRN so they could find me an awesome home where I could be indoors where I belong.
Sometimes I get uncomfortable around bigger dogs and feel like I have to protect myself so I prefer not to get too close to them. I don't mind children but I don't like when they are noisy and I try to dominate the younger children. So I tell them to be nice and sometimes even try to round them up.
I have had some basic training but as I am still pretty young I would benefit from some more training. I have manners at dinner time and will wait patiently until you put my bowl down. I have no issues with food. I eat well with the other dogs here and even if my humans touch me or my bowl I don't mind.
My ideal home would be a home with older children 12+, or with no children. I would love being an only dog as I love to have lots of attention. If I was to have a canine pal I would prefer him or her to be my size or smaller. I would also like a home where I won't spend too much time on my own. I don't fret but I may get bored and will be missing you lots!
My humans say I am wonderful and love how I like to snuggle. They think it is super cute when I nuzzle their hand for some extra pats.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone (preferred) or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can tell you all about the pet. They will also ask you about what sort of home you are offering in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
