Skip (On Trial 24/3/14)

Hi my name is Skip! I am a 2 yo, male, kelpie cross. My foster mum says I constantly have a smile on my face and that I always make her happy when I greet her at the door, tail wagging. I get along really well with my canine foster sister. We play and wrestle non-stop. I get along better with the ladies ;-) I tend to get a little bit silly when I meet other dogs on my walks. But once I get settled and meet them properly I'm great at making new friends. My foster mum takes me for long walks to help me get better with meeting new dogs.

We also do training together for the basic stuff like sit, stay, come, and wait for my dinner (that last one is hard sometimes because I love food). I'm doing very well with these commands, especially when I'm given liver treats. They are my most favourite treats of all!

I am good the kids too. I live with a 5 year old boy and I'm gentle with him when we play together. I don't mouth when I play and I only jump when I am super duper excited, but I'm getting better with that too.

We recently adopted a new kitten. I am slowly getting used to her being in the house. At the moment I still have to be supervised around the cat. You never know, I could be friends with a cat some day. I will chase chickens though so I can't go to a home where they live.

My favourite game is chasings, so if you have another dog in your family, I would love to spend all day running and playing with him or her. They say "a tired dog is a good dog" so you will have two good dogs! I love playing ball but don't fetch as yet. I enjoy running next to my mum's bike along the water front. I have plenty of energy so I make a fantastic fitness buddy!

I think I would best be suited to an active family with kids over the age of four. I need to be allowed inside when people are home. I am allowed inside where I live now because I love cuddles and will put myself on your lap if given the chance. My bed is in the laundry at night and I never have accidents. When I have to stay in the backyard during the day I am very good and don't dig or escape.
