Zorro (On Trial 16/2/14)

Zorro is a 7 1/2 year old, male Shih Tzu x Maltese. Since coming into care, he has proven to be a delightful little chap. How anyone could have turned their back on him is disgraceful. All he wants is your love and to be near you. In return, he tries to please you.

Zorro loves his back scratched and plays fetch with his soft toys. I am trying to get him to use the doggie door (still in progress). He is housetrained and lets you know when he wants to go outside. He comes when called though I wouldn't let him off the lead as he has a bit more learning to do walking on a lead. Zorro likes rides in the car and gets on well with my other small foster dog. I don't know about cats. He barks at the wild birds.

Zorro was rescued from off the street. His microchip was checked but the people said that they didn't want him. His coat was all matted and all his teeth were rotten. Dog Rescue Newcastle found a loving foster carer for him then sent him to the vets to have his teeth removed, get vaccinated and have a thorough health check. The state he was in just goes to show how ill treated he was.

Zorro has a low shedding coat which needs regular brushing (every few days depending on length), bathing (every few weeks) and clipping (every 4 to 8 weeks) to keep him comfortable and beautiful. He is an inside dog and needs to be allowed inside, at least when people are home, and to always to sleep inside.

Zorro is a bright, happy, affectionate little man will make a great companion for someone who would give him plenty time and of TLC.
