About Mika
Meet Mika who came to us in unusual circumstances.
She was found in the gutter as a young dog unable to stand up so was taken to the vets. She was super skinny and her coat was rough and dry.
She went to the pound where she probably shouldn't have.
We pounced on her as we felt that as she could hardly stand up she probably wouldn't be able to get her food or water, so we able to take her in a duty of care. We got some x-rays done and found that she had a broken bone in her neck. We couldn't do anything while she was doing pound time so the vets made a brace for her neck and she was crated.
She ended up ours and after being crated for 6 weeks and minimal exercise, the brace gradually came off and amazingly she is healed, although she does tend to walk with a slightly crooked neck.
She has been a long time in care but has come along in leaps and bounds and we feel that she is now ready for adoption; however she will only go to the appropriate home.
She is a beautiful puppy, and just loves everything in her path, (paper, plastic, toys, wood, water, pot plants, horse hair, you name it, if it’s on the ground, it’s in her mouth). She is a loveable rough I guess you could say.
When she meets you, she meets you with her whole body, her tail never stops, and in fact her whole body never stops.
She always has a smile on her face and is the happiest dog.
Mika thinks every dog is a play toy too but every dog doesn't really appreciate it, so she needs to be kept in check.
She probably isn't the smartest dog on the block but she does understand when she in trouble and what she is meant to do.
At the moment we are working on the ‘sit’. She will sit (for 5 secs) but she knows what she is supposed to do, she just can’t sit still long enough.
Mika is everyone’s friend and a laugh a minute and hopefully one day she might grow up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Not sure of the breed but maybe even a bit of Lab in there. The vets have her as boxer x ridgeback.
