About Max (On Trial 4/2/14)
This gorgeous little boy is Max a 12-18 month old Pomeranian x Chihuahua. Max was very timid and shy for the first few days we had him, but now we have gained his trust, he will come up to us for pats and cuddles.
Max has a very calm temperament and is definitely not a yappy dog; I have only heard him bark once since we have had him. He is very good with kids, even younger kids as we have a 3 year old neighbour who visits regularly and we all know how over-loving a 3yr old can be, but Max has never so much as growled at her.
As for other dogs we have a 16 year old Maltese, Max is never boisterous or overwhelming with him, he will just snuggle in next to him. On the other hand we also have a 6 month old Jack Russell and Max and she have had a great time wrestling, chasing and generally being little ratbags together. So I think Max would be great with any age of other smallish dogs. We also have 2 cats and 5 chickens but Max hasn’t bothered about these at all.
Max would also be fine as an only dog as when I have spent time alone with Max he is quite content just to jump up on my lap and snuggle. I don’t think he was a house dog, as we have had a few accidents in the house although he is getting there with his toilet training. It will just take time. Think my other dogs are teaching him. Max also has a very big appetite for a little dog and is not fussy with food at all.
Max is unsure around men and going to them, however he has now come around with my husband, but I think men would need to gain his trust before he would be comfortable with them.
Max loves going for walks and does really well on the harness and lead. He has been a joy to have in our family and I’m sure he would be no problem for anyone who was to adopt him. He just wants to be loved and cared for.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone (preferred) or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can tell you all about the pet. They will also ask you about what sort of home you are offering in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
