Bears nature is as lovely as his appearance. He is a very calm dog who is gentle with children, puppies and other dogs. He barely sheds and has a nice silky black and white coat.
He has perfected the basic commands of sit, lie down, stay, come, leave it, and no. He is “bed time” crate trained but also loves going in and out of the crate throughout the day. When it’s nighttime, he goes into his crate without fuss and is happy to be greeted first thing in the morning.
Bear goes very well on and off the lead and enjoys frequent exercise weather it be walking, running, going to the dog park or playing fetch. He also enjoys frolicking in water and chasing waves. Bear has a lot of personality and loves his cuddles and will also enjoy just lounging with you throughout the day. You’ll never have to worry about him taking off.
Bear gets a bit anxious when he gets left alone for a long time but we are working on training that out of him. He would be well suited to a home where he doesn’t get left alone, all day, 5 days a week, and an owner who is willing to continue with his training. The only time Bear may bark is when he gets left alone, but other than that, he never barks at people or other dogs.
Bear would be well suited to a home with a big backyard, children or no children, and with dogs or no dogs. He is easy to take with you on weekend getaways because he is so low maintenance or just hang out while you work in the yard or play with the kids. Just watch out for your broom, vacuum, and gardening hose because he loves chasing them!
Adoption details
Please email or phone to make the enquiry about the dog you are interested in adopting and we can answer any further questions you may have. We will then send you an adoption application form to complete and return via email along with ID and photo's of your garden/yard and fencing/gates.
If the adoption application is approved a home check & meet and greet with the dog you are interested in adopting will be arranged. If you have other dogs in the family we like them to come along and also meet with the dog.
If all goes ahead and you adopt the dog there is a 4 week trial period to make sure they settle in their new home ok. If it works out well the adoption papers are then finalised and all dogs from our adoption program must be registered with your local council and the microchip details changed into your name and contact details.
Our dogs are not available for interstate adoption.
