Hello, my name is Chica! I'm a female Chihuahua, 8 and 1/2 years old, with plenty of energy to play. I am a real big sook. Once I realize you aren't going to hurt me, I will be your friend forever! I LOVE walks - so much to see and so smell! I also like the resident dogs and cats in my foster home. My foster family also have 2 pet rats, but I don't pay them any attention.
I LOVE playing with stuffed toys! I will play tug of war and chase them if you throw them for me! I will toss them around like a puppy. I think I will make you smile with my happy play.
When I came to my foster home I was afraid of the man of the house and the little boy, but I have gotten to know them and think they are just fine now. Once I know you and trust you, I am a really loving girl, just looking for a lap to lay on while someone talks quietly to me and gently strokes my soft fur. I am pretty protective of whoever I bond with, so when I'm on your lap and a stranger tries to pat me, I get a bit worried they are going to hurt you or me, so ask them to stay away in the only way I know how, which is a little warning growl. If they take time to be my friend I relax my guarding duties.
I hadn't been inside before getting rescued but my clever foster mum has housetrained me. I sleep inside with no accidents.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone (preferred) or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can tell you all about the pet. They will also ask you about what sort of home you are offering in order to assess if it is a good match.
(2) Arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carers home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. They will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
