Kelly

Kelly is a very affectionate dog who will become very attached to her new owner. She will happily sit beside you for hours, jump into your lap, greet you with great excitement, and give you lots of doggy kisses.

She gets on well with dogs her own size (3.8kg) and is very fun and playful with them. She will often pester them to play with her so any doggy companion will have to be up for a game of chase or two. She does not get on well with larger dogs, and is not cat friendly.

She is a quiet dog, although like most chihuahuas she is an excellent watch dog and will bark to let you know about any strange goings on. She would be suitable for a full time worker provided that she was given plenty of attention when you were home, but she would prefer to be with someone who was around all day. She is not suitable for a home with children.

If she does not have a playful doggy companion and a big back yard to run around in she will need regular exercise in order to run off her energy and exuberance.

She walks beautifully on lead, and is fully house trained.

Kelly needs an experienced dog owner, one who understands how to be Kelly's pack leader and to set and consistently enforce strict doggy rules and boundaries. She has been in foster care learning that obedience is not optional and that humans are the boss, and she is adjusting to this change in pack status. Fortunately she is easy to train as she will do anything for treats!
